What is "In-Home" Training?
In-Home means that the training takes place in your home and at a time that is convenient for you. The programs are designed so that the trainer can have one-on-one interaction teaching your dog AND you.
What are the benefits of "In-Home" Training?
There are several benefits to this training:
Convenience: With today's busy lifestyles it’s tough to fit in necessary trips such as grocery shopping so making time to load up your dog and travel to and from a training facility once a week for several weeks can be near impossible. Especially if you have a dog that is difficult to handle! Having the trainer come to you at a time that fits into YOUR schedule makes life much easier! Plus it lets everyone in the family get involved.
Practicality: The training takes place in your home, yard, neighborhood where the most time is spent with your dog and most behavior problems occur. If your dog is uncontrollable when someone rings your doorbell or knocks on your door, the trainer will work on that problem right on the spot! If your dog drags you through your neighborhood making walks nearly impossible, the trainer will teach your dog to walk nicely, even when neighbors are out with their dogs or kids! If your dog confuses you or your visitors that walk through your door for a "doggy punching bag", the trainer will teach them how to greet people properly in your house.
Personal Service: This allows for the trainer to build a lasting relationship with the dog and the family so that the training can match their lifestyle and provide FREE and trusted advice, assistance and/or follow up lessons for the life of the dog.
Quality: Because of the trainer's experience, personal service, practicality and your involvement throughout the training process, the success of the training will be unmatched!
What is the difference between our “all inclusive” training courses and individual lessons or group classes?
The end result! Our “all inclusive” courses will teach obedience commands AND work on your behavior problems. It’s very likely that either you or someone you know has already been through a class or had private sessions with a trainer (or both) and are still looking for results. That doesn’t mean that either of these are bad; in fact they both have their place in training. However, neither will provide you will solid results without adding additional classes or costs. The “all inclusive” courses will give you the results that you want and backs it up with a lifetime guarantee.
Will my dog behave just as well away from the house?
Yes. Our program takes the dogs through a crucial phase of training called “generalization”. That means the dogs learn to “generalize” what they have learned to all contexts. You may have a dog that sits, downs and has great manners at home when it’s just you or the family there but will not do ANY of these when people come over or when in a different place. That is because dogs are contextual learners and unless they are taught to perform in various contexts (meaning with different distractions as well as different areas of the home, yard, neighborhood, etc) they will never learn to perform in ALL contexts. “Generalization” will teach them to do this therefore provide reliable obedience no matter where you go with your dog.
Will my dog behave when the trainer isn’t around?
Yes! Our training does not stop with the dog; we will train the owner how to handle the dog as well. The dog will not improve and keep up the obedience if not handled correctly so we do not consider the training complete until the dog AND owners are both trained.
We understand that owners are not trainers so we make this as easy as possible! We will teach you how to communicate with your dog, as a human, using the commands we have taught and fit it into your daily routine so that it will eliminate problem behaviors without taking up extra time.
I have been told that my dog is difficult, untrainable, etc by other professionals. Can you help? Can I afford it?
We will not turn away any dog! We have experience and success working with many last chance cases for pet dogs as well as police dogs.
We offer a free evaluation and have one flat fee for a training course with behavior modification (even for severe cases) so you will know the exact price before you begin the training. Our obedience guarantee is the same even for severe cases, so if your dog cannot be trained you will get a refund. Speak to a trainer for more details.
